Ancestry.com was seeking creative ideas to help humanize their brand and explore the power of discovery that their platform provides. They wanted something new and different, an evolution of the traditional testimonial-style video they had produced in the past; and they wanted to inspire others to join Ancestry on its journey to help each of us uncover our own unique familial legacy.
We developed the concept for a scripted “Wes Anderson”-style video, inspired by our director’s actual ancestry, in which our main character peels back the layers of her lineage through food. The video is immensely creative, unique and refreshing, with little flourishes that inspire laughter and inward reflection.
Why We Love It
We always have so much fun working. But this project was truly delightful. From the moment we received the creative brief to collaborating with the client, we were continually inspired and energised by this video.
